Asian Import Cars Modified Cars

An increasing number of young Asian-American men across the country are following suit and decorating their cars with decals of Chinese and Japanese characters. The calligraphy boasts the names of foreign performance part companies, import car makers and local detail shops.

For some, the trend, which began in Japan and spread quickly across America's West Coast and major cities, does more than advertise cars and their parts. The car calligraphy is one of many ways that Asian men are expressing their cultural and masculine pride - including souping up their Asian import cars, getting ethnic tattoos and participating in Asian fraternities and sports teams.
